Proje hakkında
The project is to tell (not read) the children (4 to 8 years) the story of Sophie and ask them to draw a picture that indicates to something in the story.
While we tell the story we will use a story sack with various things, to show the students, that connects to the story such as an inflatable orb, penguin, blue whale, the doll Sophie and more.
We will use the storybook by Alison Lester - "Sophie Scott goes South" as a background for the storytelling.

The aim of the project is to raise awareness to the Arctic/Antarctic and what life is like there.
We want students to know where Antarctica/Arctic are on Earth and what it looks like. What is being done there and how important it is in relation to climate change and water supply in the world that is being discussed today.

The project will last for about a month (Mars/April).
First the participants will present themselves on TwinSpace f.ex. with student group pictures and pointing on a map where the participants live.
After they have been told the story, they draw pictures related to the story. The teacher places them on Twinspace so everyone can see and further discussion can be created about the subject while looking at them.
Many classes in each school can take part in the project.
If participants are interested they can meet in a web meeting while the project goes on.

The students will be aware of:
- that Antarctica is full of ice (frozen water)
- what animals are living there
- what the scientists are working at
- that it takes many days to get there (by ship or airplane)
- no one owns this land - every one can stay there
